Records Management App Passes DoD Requirements
Booth #9054
LaserFiche unveiled here the seventh edition of its Records Management product. The new document imaging/records management hybrid combines paperless office technology with security and timing features to provide records managers with the ability to customize and run a more cost-effective archival program.
With this new edition, 'sensitive' information stays that way, and security devices ensure that access is granted only to those proscribed by the administrator, vital for health care offices subject to HIPAA privacy standards. Timing controls make sure records are destroyed or passed on to archival systems according to strict retention rules, enforced by the SEC and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
LaserFiche made the release available to DoD personnel four months early for testing purposes. By aggressively augmenting their product, the company's development team succeeding in complying with the DoD's standards of document retention and records management.
Product highlights include:
· Gives users the unique ability to create and edit records series.
· Easier to use, more intuitive administrator interface.
· Can set user read rights by date, field, and template.
This gives records managers tremendous control over what parts of what records can be read by which people.
This new edition automatically archives and organizes incoming e-mail. No manual routing is necessary. E-mail can now be stored in various meta-data forms as it arrives. This is very important to companies that are required by law to track every e-mail, as is required of public companies by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
The new edition will be available in January 2004.
