TEOS-Based Pro Security Developers Kit Debuts
Booth #10370
Marx Software Security introduced here its CrypToken USB Security Development Kit, which is based on the new token-embedded operating system (TEOS).
The CrypToken is a small but powerful USB security token that can be an add-on for existing applications as a second factor for authorization, or can be integrated into a security application from the ground up. The product contains 4KB to 64KB of secure memory, as well as its own microprocessor and encryption chip.
The development kit also includes modules developed by the company's security specialists that can be a good addition or the basis for a security application. These modules include Tokey Secure Sign-On, which enables the CrypToken USB token to be added to Windows log-in screens as a second factor for access authorization; Tokey Secure Password Organizer, which enables the CrypToken to act as a secure storage container located off the hard drive; and XenoDisc, which allows the entire hard disk - or areas of the hard disk - to be encrypted based on the product's encryption engine. The kit also includes an automatic driver installation utility, the TEOS API, with samples for all popular compilers and many useful tools such as the partition editor to allow bundled services to operate from one CrypToken.
The kit enables developers to take advantage of the improved security of two-factor authentication with easy integration. Passwords alone are not secure; second factor for identification and authorization is now required to create a secure application.
